Session 2 - 10:30 a.m.  “Naturalization Know-How: The Laws and Records of U.S. Citizenship”
Description: Many records were created when immigrant ancestors became American citizens. Learn what they are and how to find them.

Session 3 - 1:00 p.m.  “The Aliens are Coming: USCIS Record Sets”
Description: A-Files? AR-2 Forms? C-Files? Oh my! Wade through the alphabet soup of the record sets the US Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) holds to find where your immigrant ancestor may be hiding.

Session 4 - 2:30 p.m.  “Unsung Immigration Records of NARA: Contextualizing Recent Immigrant Ancestors”
Description: The National Archives (NARA) holds various records about that can provide a treasure trove of information on twentieth-century immigrant ancestors that made America their home. Learn about INS Case and Correspondence Files, Bureau of Naturalization Correspondence Files, Alien Personal History and Statement forms, and A-Files.

New Free Historical Records on FamilySearch: Week of October 8, 2018

"FamilySearch expands its free online archives this week with almost 1.7 million new searchable names from France and almost 2 million names from Native American Census Rolls, 1885-1940. New indexed records are also available from Belgium, Ireland, South Africa, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United States (Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Mississippi, Montana, New York, and the Mexican War Pension Index). New indexed records are also on the BillionGraves Index and the Find a Grave Index."
