Correction:
The Villages Recreation News published a meeting notice that the New to Genealogy SIG would meet on September 23rd at 2:30 p.m. That is incorrect. That meeting was held on September 16th. Their next meeting will be on October 21st.

1692: Giles Corey is pressed to death for standing mute and refusing to answer charges of witchcraft brought against him. He is the only person in America to have suffered this punishment.
