This Day In History:
1841: Watson Fothergill and English architect who designed the Woodborough Road Baptist Church was born: he died in 1928.
1798: In the Irish rebellion of 1798 the Battle of Ballynahinch took place.
1775: British General Thomas Gage declares martial law in Massachusetts. The British offer a pardon to all colonists who lay down their arms. There would be only two exceptions to the amnesty: Samuel Adams and John Hancock, if captured, they were to be hanged.
