The VGS Scrapbook Project Update:

For the past 23 years, the Historian(s) of The Villages Genealogical Society have been busy maintaining scrapbooks of society news, pictures and other memorabilia. They have become difficult to maintain and to be placed on display at meetings. For the past several weeks, we have been in the process of digitizing the important pieces from these books and they are now available in our website's photo gallery. The scrapbook collection contains 303 images in 4 albums. Now anyone can enjoy viewing our momentous from home and at their leisure.

"And, in my case, they are wrong. Unquestionably wrong. What I hate the most about this situation is if you’re not a genetic genealogist, and you haven’t done your homework, you’ll be thrilled with your new wrong ancestors, “proven,” of course, by DNA."

New Virtual RootsMagic User Group on Facebook:
Shared by RootsMagic
"Although we have had a RootsMagic "page" on Facebook for years, we've noticed that it is hard for RM users to connect with other users or share ideas on that page. Because of this we have created a new "virtual" RootsMagic users group on Facebook which makes it much easier to connect with other RM users, ask questions, share ideas, and otherwise discuss how to use the software. Even though the group is listed as a "closed group", most requests for membership will be approved.  This is to help prevent any spam or ads on this page. Spammers will be banned from the group."
